A New System for Swanson

Charcoal and white.

Swanson Studio specializes in creating powerful athlete and sports-lifestyle related photography. Their photos are really beautiful and their new stationary system is just as super-sleek as their work. The logo type was designed by Jesse Kaczmarek and Andy Gugel was responsible for the system. The icons represent Inspiration, Relationships, Legacy, Approach, and Photography. Keep your eyes out for a new website from them as well. I can’t wait to see how it all turns out!

The Wilderness’ Wild Scout Book

The wild, so close.

If you’ve never heard of The Wilderness, gather round.

It all began in 2004 with two people named Gabe Imlay and Juliet Rios. They decided to start a design company specializing in motion graphics, animation, live action and blowing minds. Now it’s 2010, they’re still going strong and they’ve just made themselves a Scout Book. What next?

Southland’s 608 and Scout Books

So blue.

These Scout Books were created for Southland Christian Church, located in Central Kentucky. Southland holds a special worship service at 6:08 (hence the name) for College agers and 20-somethings. These books served as an invite to this year’s 608 afterparty that welcomed students back into the area after summer vay-cay. Why the Vs.? They are also incorporating a “large tournament” this year and since 608 averages over 2000 students every week I can imagine that “large” is, indeed, fairly large.

Three-pack of Custom Scout Books

Three-pack of awesome.

You may not realize it yet, but that belly band holds a world of wonders. The Industrial Design Society of America went all out with a three-pack of custom interior Scout Books, complete with a pull out section!  They were created by Ziba for an IDSA “cross-craft” discussion about DIY design held right here in Portland, Oregon. The three-pack consists of one part sweet Portland city guide, one part informative conference/symposium particulars, and one part handy, blank sketchbook. I highly suggest you check out the other photos of this gem right after the jump!

Diagrams on Scout Books

Brain-y brains and typewriters.

Girls Can Tell is a small screen printing shop in Philadelphia. Their Etsy shop is chock-full of useful items, including these Scout Books illustrated with informative and beautiful diagrams by Sara Selepouchin. I think my favorite is the brain. I like that idea–perfect for a pocket notebook! I only wish I could write directly into my brain. The quest for more memory continues.

Wishbone Business Cards

"I wish I had a million dollars..."

Wishbone is a store located in San Francisco with loads and loads of goodies to spend your money on! They have been around since 1995 and if you don’t think that’s impressive, do the math, folks! I really need to get it into my head that the 90′s are older than they feel. Not only has this store been doin’ its thang for 15 years, it’s about to relaunch its website. Very exciting!

Alex Cahill’s Art Print

Ridin' through the countryside.

Printer: Pinball Publishing
Item: Art Print
Paper: Environment 125# White Cover
Inks: Pantone soy-based black
Illustrator: Alex Cahill

As a writer, artist, picto-histographer, and co-founder of The New Radio Comics just about to release #3 of a four-part graphic-novel series, Alex Cahill sounds like he’s a pretty busy guy. Nevertheless, he found some time to create this great art print. At first glance, I didn’t even see the little biker. Now I do and I like it even more.
