Erik Hamline is the Steady Print Shop Co., a Minneapolis-based screen printing studio outputting witty and beautiful work. A sly grin crept onto my face each time I browsed through a new print in his online portfolio. First comes wide-eyed amazement at the technical prowess each embodies. And then, occasionally, you uncover the clever joke hiding beneath layers of ink.
This vintage-y four-color screen print was created for an Aesthetic Apparatus-curated print folio exchange of work inspired by the HBO series Deadwood. In addition to printed gems like this, Hamline makes stellar design work under the moniker Woods & Weather.
